The scallop festival

"La Fête de la Coquille St Jacques" (Scallop Festival) of the Côtes-d'Armor department

Erquy and two other harbours (Saint-Quay-Portrieux and Paimpol) organise every year and in turn a scallop festival.

It will be held in Erquy on 15th and 16th April 2017.

On those weekends, in a musical and festive atmosphere, visitors have the opportunity to buy fresh scallops, meet fishermen, get on board speedboats and see scallop fishing, taste scallops...

New : An event celebrating the start of the scallop fishing season in Erquy

For one Sunday of the French All Saints' Holiday, Erquy harbour holds a shellfish market, some musical entertainments and visitors can meet local fishermen.

2017 "Exported" Scallop Festivals

Every year, all the sea products from the Côtes d'Armor region are presented in Paris, on the last weekend of January, in Montmartre.

  • Fête de la Coquille Saint Jacques (Scallop Festival) in Paris (Montmartre - place des Abbesses) : 21st and 22nd january 2017

Every two years, the tasty shellfish is celebrated in Belgium.

  • Fête de la Coquille Saint Jacques (Scallop Festival) in Oupeye (Erquy's Belgian sister city). The next edition will be held in 2018.

This treasure from the Côtes d'Armor region is also celebrated in the French mountains.

  • Fête de la Coquille Saint Jacques (Scallop Festival) in Villard-de-Lans on 18th and 19th March 2017.
